Campus Hub ("we", "us") is a student community platform. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We try to keep it short and human.
1. What we collect
- Account info: name, email, username, avatar, either from email signup or Google sign-in.
- Profile info: anything you add yourself (bio, department, batch, links, interests).
- Content you post: topics, replies, resources, listings, comments, votes, bookmarks.
- Usage data: basic logs (page visits, errors) so we can fix issues and improve UX.
2. Google Sign-In
When you sign in with Google we receive your email, name and profile picture, nothing else. We never read your Gmail, contacts, Drive or calendar. You can disconnect anytime from your Google account settings.
3. How we use it
- To run the platform: show your posts, deliver notifications, prevent abuse.
- To personalize your feed (followed courses, interests, bookmarks).
- To respond to support / abuse reports.
We do not sell your data and we do not run third-party ad trackers.
4. Who can see your content
Posts, profiles and listings are public by default, anyone visiting Campus Hub can read them (and search engines may index them). You can post anonymously where the option is offered; the platform still records your identity internally for moderation.
5. Cookies & storage
We use essential cookies / local storage to keep you signed in and remember your theme. No advertising cookies.
6. Data retention
We keep your content while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings; this removes your profile and personal data. Public posts may remain in anonymized form to preserve threads other students replied to.
7. Your rights
You can access, edit or delete your profile data at any time. For anything else (export, full deletion, complaints), email us and we'll respond within 14 days.
8. Children
Campus Hub is intended for university students (16+). If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
9. Changes
If we make material changes we'll update the date above and surface a notice in-app.
